About this job

Regional Manager of Safety and Transportation Reports to Director of Safety and Transportation Office will be located near the Oklahoma City airport, but office time will be limited. Applicants based anywhere in Oklahoma will be considered. Note: The Construction Suppliers Association (www.gocsa.com) is a nonprofit group serving lumber dealers and associated businesses. Currently, the association services Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. As of Jan. 1, the Oklahoma Lumbermen's Association is merging into CSA. This new position will be based in Oklahoma and serve our new Oklahoma members. Role Description: The role of this position is to improve safety among member companies in Oklahoma and northern Louisiana by helping companies meet loss control, safety and regulatory compliance needs. This position also provides assistance with transportation compliance issues. Major elements of this role include: Providing consulting expertise to all member companies in the areas of loss control, regulatory compliance safety, and transportation. This may be in-depth with one company at a time or could be in a workshop with multiple companies present. Serve as a representative for members in dealing with regulatory agencies such as OSHA. Monitoring legal, regulatory and code changes that may impact member companies and developing information to communicate such changes as appropriate. Developing enduring materials to be housed on the CSA website that assist members in meeting their safety and transportation compliance requirements. Writing articles about safety issues, regulatory changes and other items of interest for CSA publications. Conducting seminars including the OSHA 10- and OSHA 30-hour courses. Nature of the Position: The position requires close cooperation and interaction with other staff in planning and executing workshops, writing articles, and creating other enduring materials that must be distributed to members. Estimated travel for this position is 60%. Provide written reports detailing members' operations and loss control efforts including improvements that need to be made. Follow up on recommendations to encourage members to make necessary changes. Be “on call” to assist members with safety emergencies, such as an OSHA inspection or catastrophic workplace injury. Serve as the conduit of information for owner/managers in the region on legislative, regulatory, and code enforcement issues related to the building and construction supply industry along with information on activities being conducted by the association. Interactions with members should broaden relationships and communicate a strong value proposition for membership. Provide appropriate communication information to the association newsletter and other channels to promote safety. Work with the director of safety and transportation to develop checklists, turnkey safety meetings and other items for the CSA website that extend the reach of the association's safety program without requiring face-to-face interaction. Be alert to things that need to be done and, without being asked, take initiative to see that they get done. Salary dependent on experience! YourMembership.
