The Physicians' Clinic of Iowa is seeking a Nurse Practitioner
for its Department of Neurology.
This individual will see general neurology patients as well as receive training and supervision in sleep medicine and outpatient neurology in order to help us provide specialty care. The goal is to be able to provide initial evaluations in uncomplicated patients as well as follow up care, in conjunction with one of our board certified physicians. Primary focus of this position will be general neurology.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultation, and health education.Obtain patient histories and develop patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.Provides health education to families, and/or community health practitioners and groups, within area of specialty.Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and/or support staff.May participate in planning programs and in developing specific health policies and procedures.Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
ARNP; State of Iowa Certified Nurse Practitioner required. Six months to one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above preferred.
Successful candidates must have excellent communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate clearly, written and oral, to patients, insurance companies, pharmacies, physicians, and staff. The qualified individual will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, be patient focused, and must work well with team members. Must also have a high level of comfort and become competent in working with computer systems.
