Clinic Nurse Practitioner

Clinic Nurse Practitioner Circare is a not for profit community based mental health agency located in Syracuse, New York. Circare programs are designed to help individuals and families, who have encountered certain obstacles, develop the resources and supports to live a satisfying, naturally interdependent life P/T Clinic Nurse Practitioner with experience in Behavioral Health Care to serve our growing patient population.  The position is 32 hours per week with benefits.  Additional hours may become available as we continue to expand.  Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct psychiatric assessments, including diagnosis, history, course of illness, and response to treatment, mental status exam.Carry client caseload commensurate with part time status, provide ongoing psychiatric care to clients on NP caseload, including evaluation and assessment, diagnosis and medication monitoring.Explain role of NP and medications in mental health treatment and recovery.Work in collaboration with the Clinic Medical Team, including Clinic Psychiatrist and Clinic RN.Provide crisis assessment and management of clients, both on-site and over the phoneMay provide wellness activities as needed such as health monitoring, consultation with other healthcare providers, or directing nursing staff to monitor particular physical health circumstances and conditions.Communicate and consult with teammates to shape quality practiceAssist the Team Leader/ Clinic Director in training staff in knowledge and skills basic to treatment of persons with severe and persistent mental illness Job Requirements: NYS licensed/registered NP with specialty area of Psychiatry requiredMust have NPI numberNational Certification through AANP or ANCCMaster's of Science in Nursing2 years of experience providing NP services to adults in mental health setting; preferably in OMH licensed facilityKnowledge of evidence based practices and/or person-centered care a plusMust have a valid driver's license and own transportation Benefits Include: Profit Sharing Plan/401KMedical, Dental, Vision and Life InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid LeaveMileage ReimbursementJob Specific Trainings Please submit a cover letter and resume to Pat Pomroy, Circare, 620 Erie Blvd. West, Suite 302, Syracuse, NY 13204 or go to www.cir.care to submit by e-mail.
