Position Summary:

abc carpet & home is currently looking for an experienced Jewelry Sales Associate to be a part of our community and aide to the success of our Flagship Manhattan store! As a Sales Associate at abc carpet & home you are the face of our mission, embody our values, and are a vital part to the overall customer experience.

This individual must be a professional with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The Jewelry Sales Associate must have the ability to achieve goals, work in a fast paced environment and ensure the overall positive customer shopping experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Enhance the customer shopping experience by participating in the sales process, ensuring all personal sales goals are met;

2. Attend trainings and further development meetings as scheduled by jewelry manager or first floor manager

3. Seek ongoing and continuing education of gemology

4. Appropriately enter all important guest and product information into computer system at point of sale

5. Foster a professional demeanor with all abc team members, store managers, and store guests

6. Perform jewelry march at opening and closing- secure most expensive jewelry pieces nightly with security team;

7. Liaison and communicate with various departments such as visual, warehouse, customer service, marketing and buying on a daily basis;

8. Ensure that all promotions, discounts, etc. are properly displayed and communicated on the sales floor;

9. Partner with security team effectively to minimize security breaches and maintain security protocol;

10. Clear and open communication with 1st floor sales manager;

11. Maintain cleanliness within department, includes cases, floors, glass, and polishing of jewelry;

12. Communicate and further abc’s mission to both sales team and customers

13. Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

1. Minimum of 1-2 years sales experience in a luxury retail environment with jewelry experience is preferred.

2. Flexibility to work a retail schedule is a must, weekends and holidays.

a. Work store-wide events and store inventory counts

3. Work effectively in both a team environment as well as independently.

4. Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills—verbal, written, time management, project skills.

5. Strong planning skills with a sense of priority and attention to detail within a revenue driven atmosphere.

6. Dedicated to high levels of customer service and sales productivity.

7. The ability to work under pressure, to meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Expectation of Staff:

Adheres to company policy and procedures; performs duties as workload necessitates; maintains a positive and respectful attitude; communicates regularly with manager about department issues; demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload; consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position; meets department productivity standards.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit; use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee can regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
