Schedule: 2nd Shift

Pay depends on experience.

This is a Direct Hire position.

Job Duties:

  • Manage, motivate and develop shift personnel including discipline, training, evaluations, goal setting and personal development. Communicate and support all company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with the Plant Manager/Operations Manager and Shift Supervisor regarding company policies, system breakdowns, safety and environmental issues.
  • Troubleshoot and correct machinery problems.
  • Utilize EIQ to analyse operations to ensure that the plant is running as efficiently as possible, prioritize workload and ensure all employees under your control are operating as effectively as possible.
  • Monitor and advise low inventory of production items including PPE for all employees.
  • Manage end of shift reports on EIQ on a daily basis as required by the Plant Manager or Quality Department.
  • Report any unsafe acts or conditions and report any accidents.
  • You are required to manage the SQC Rota (Safety Quick Checks) ensuring individuals including yourself complete the required cards as detailed in the SQC rota.
  • Operate plant machinery in accordance with training / instruction using safe systems of work where applicable and as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Where applicable machines should be setup using the relevant machine setting sheet for the tool being fitted.
  • Understand all CQS (Critical to Quality Specifications) for the parts being produced.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping
  • Actively participate in any/all continuous improvement activities
  • Actively participate in shift meetings and training sessions
  • Proactively identify & make recommendations for improvements in all relevant areas of the business.
  • PC/Computer literate (M.S Word, Excel, Outlook)

Key Skills:

  • Experience in shift leadership, supervision or management and active downtime management.
  • Shop floor supervision experience, including performance management and development.
  • Experience of delivering continuous improvement/lean initiatives.
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to respond to the needs of the business and take on new challenges.
  • Ability to lead a culture of safe working practices, and work flexible schedule – primarily 2nd shift.
  • Experience of working within a high demand, fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of adhering to product quality standards in a manner in keeping with the Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures of the company.
  • Ideal candidates will have Die-Cutting, Folding and Gluing knowledge, Maintenance/Mechanical acumen, familiarity with printing, flexographic a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a huge plus
