Assistant General Manager - Fine Dining
Salary up to $70,000

Position Description:

Supervise and administer front of the house operations of the restaurant. Assist in coordination of new ideas in guest service, service training and product enhancement. Supervise, administer and coach the team members in accordance with restaurant policies.

Work Performed:

1. Assist in Interviews and selection, training, supervision, counseling and discipline of restaurant staff.
2. Assist General Manager in organizing and conducting pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as guest count and menu changes.
3. Responsible for scheduling all front of the house staff consistent with company guidelines.
4. Interact positively with customers promoting the restaurant facilities and services. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties. Assist in organizing special events in the restaurant. Maintain rapport with all departments and attend relevant meetings.
5. Ensure all areas are properly handling alcohol beverages in accordance with State and Federal Liquor policies. Assist in developing training programs specific to food and beverage service.
6. Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food and beverage quality and service standards are met. Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.
7. Observe safety and legal requirements as to health and labor department requirements
8. Maintain profitability of restaurant, develop, institute and monitor revenue enhancement programs and expense reductions achieve budgeted revenues and expenses. Control equipment costs (minimizing loss and misuse). Recommend cost saving and profit enhancing measures.
9. Utilize computer to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence.
10. Ensure maintenance of equipment by initiating repairs and training staff on proper use.
11. Support the entire Food & Beverage operation including supervising other areas if necessary, handling special projects, running promotions and handling public relations.
12. Provide clean and safe environment by assigning and assisting with cleaning

14. Must interact with guest and at all the times represent the best interest of the brand.
15. Assist General Manager with all guest complaints, maintain communication with corporate team regarding complaints
16. Other projects assigned by the General Manager

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to stand and walk during 8 to 10 hour shifts.
2. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and wipe to perform essential job functions.
3. Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 40 pounds and place items on high and low shelves.
4. Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods

Training & Experience:

Minimum of 3 years Supervisory in Food & Beverage operations or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required skills and abilities.
College degree preferred.
Full flexibility to accommodate varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant.
Complete knowledge of restaurant operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction.
Skilled in math and algebraic equations using percentages.
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing with guests and other team members

Required Education: College Degree Preferred
