SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Shift Leader assists the Restaurant Manager with management activities and duties. The Shift Leader works with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities are consistent with and support the restaurant’s business plan. The Shift Leader ensures all Crew Members and Team Leaders are performing their job responsibilities and meeting expectations in all areas of their job description.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Takes necessary action to ensure all Guest receive outstanding service; anticipates and exceeds the Guests needs; handles situations and requests immediately in a positive manner.
· Effectively “paths” the restaurant to monitor all aspects of the restaurant’s operation to anticipate problems; takes initiative to correct problem areas immediately.
· Consistently enforces and maintain all Quality, Service and Cleanliness standards.
· Monitors and maintains proper staffing level and labor costs.
· Create a friendly atmosphere for employees and Guests.
· Effectively train and provide direction and supervision for Crew Members.
· Support efforts to maximize sales and profits and minimize controllable costs.
· Effectively plan, organize and implement all operational routines and activities during your shift.
· Role model and set a positive example for the entire team.
· Other Duties: As assigned by management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
100% Stand or Walk (8+ hour shift)
80% Interact verbally with other restaurant positions
75% Work at Approximately 36” table/stove and reach in approximately 36”
75% Reach (6” to overhead) bend, stoop, and wipe
60% Perform job at continuous high pace, under pressure, while maintaining quality & speed standards
50% Lift and Carry sacks, boxes, product up to 50 pounds from floor to above waist level, approximately 20 feet and sometimes involving stairs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
· Strong interpersonal skill.
· Ability to work with others as a team.
· Ability to meet performance standards.
· Ability to take initiative and solve problems.
EXPERIENCE:
· Must be 18 years of age.
· Minimum 2 years of fast food experience, management experience preferred.
· Must have reliable transportation and method of communication with the restaurant (ie. phone or email).
· Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts.
