Job Description

The President directs the single-site manufacturing operations through a team of functional managers and supervisors. The position ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines. The President directs and coordinates activities of multiple functions, such as manufacturing engineering, operations or sales, and aids functional managers and supervisors in formulating and administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. The President should provide oversight of financial reporting and investments in capacity (ROI) to achieve the annual business plans. The President is expected to expand the business by identifying new revenue sources and new customers

 

The President directs, manages, and optimizes the overall operations of the production facility. Sets policies and makes decisions guiding productivity, quality, and cost efficiency of plant operations. Establish systems to collect metrics, analyze productivity and set performance targets that will meet revenue and cost goals. Leads the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Ensures robust plant safety and security procedures and training are in place and that operations are in compliance with all required regulations. Directs plant level support functions including finance, manufacturing engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources to ensure alignment with overall plant operations.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Experience / Certifications / Licenses

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field.

10+ years proven progressive experience leading organizational units in a manufacturing environment.

Experience managing and directing staff management in sales, engineering, quality, materials, manufacturing and human resources.

Experience with the coordination and evaluation of direct reports in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products including marketing strategy and tactics.

Proven and effective verbal and written communication.

Established ability for problem solving and/or leading problem solving activities at a macro level.

Demonstrated time management capability.

Successful leadership of multiple functional leaders in a complex and dynamic setting.

Experience reading design drawings

Proven ability to calculate machine capacity/cycle time etc.

Master’s degree or equivalent; or four to 10 years’ related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior engineering, finance or production management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with Kaizen and lean manufacturing techniques

Experience in heavy industrial machinery manufacturing setting and/or component manufacturing setting
