A successful Engineering Technician will have the following:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least 3+ years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate’s Degree or above in electronics or related field preferred and/or Electronics repair training or certifications
  • Ability to read, comprehend and write simplistic instructions and memos
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007, AutoCAD and maintenance management software is a plus
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts of basic math and algebra

 

The Engineering Technician plays a pivotal role in identifying, then resolving issues, concerns and problems with DISH’s family of products. This position also coaches employees and collaborates on special engineering projects, such as new product introductions and process changes.

               

Primary responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electronic issues to ensure test and manufacturing equipment is operating according to requirements and specifications
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, as well as work orders
  • Assists other groups (IT, Maintenance, Facilities, Production)
  • Provides input for trials and projects, validates the results and implements changes when necessary
  • Collects data to prepare time studies, reports, work instructions, visual aids, flowcharts and submits recommendations for change
  • Coaches staff with the support of the Engineering Group Lead
