THD’s intern program was recently named in the top 50 in the US. Our .Com program specifically offers talented college students an opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain hands on experience working with a number of leaders on projects that directly impact the online business for one of the world's leading retailers. The focus of our UX internship is on learning day-to-day operations and obtaining an overall comprehension of the e-Commerce business for The Home Depot.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:
  • Learns to work as part of a team focused on designing solutions that align with customer needs
  • Gains proficiency in skills associated with research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
  • Designs solutions based on research findings
  • Creates designs such that information is easy to find, consume, and understand 

Nature and Scope
  • Typically reports to Manager or Team Lead
  • No direct responsibility for supervising others.

Environment:
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1 years

Physical Requirements:
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in UX Design, UX Research, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Industrial Design or Product Design. 
  • Excellent academic performance
