MUST HAVES
1) Bachelor's degree in the sciences (chem, bio or similar) or an Associate's degree with additional experience
2) Experience handling chemicals and performing basic lab techniques - operating balances, weighing solutions, pipetting
3) Comfort in fast-paced environment, standing all day and working under tight deadlines
JOB DESCRIPTION
Chemical Technician formulates chemical standards or reagents by weighing out chemical components, transferring each to a volumetric flask and then adding a solvent or mixture of solvents to dissolve the components thereby preparing a solution of known composition and concentration.
Job Duties:
* Weighs chemical components using analytical balance
* Quantitatively transfers components to volumetric glassware
* Adds appropriate solvent to correct final volume
* Takes samples from bulk solution container
* Labels bulk solution and sample aliquot containers correctly
* Documents work using electronic manufacturing system
* Adheres to proper chemical hygiene and safety practices
* Cleans glassware and other associated formulation equipment according to work instruction
* Performs daily calibration of analytical balances
* Receives and labels incoming chemical components
* Helps to maintain accurate inventory of chemical components
This is a 2nd shift role, start time between 12pm and 2pm.
