Manager, Quality Assurance & Commercialization (Non Poultry)

Job Summary:
The Manager, Global QA / Commercialization is responsible for evaluating all non-poultry product categories that support both quality assurance & commercialization team members with strategic business initiatives. The person in this position will manage a quality assurance specialist who is responsible for brand integrity management through successful execution of Popeyes quality system processes, procedures and protocols. Supply accountability is paramount to risk mitigation and must be conducted accurately and concisely by the person in this role.

Essential Responsibilities:
+ Conduct routine product evaluation inspections in test kitchen.
+ Conduct routine risk assessment audits with high risk suppliers and resolve to mitigate associated risk.
+ Partner with Global Dir. Food Safety & operations to conduct cook verification & validation studies.
+ Partner with operational managers to test and validate back of house restaurant operating procedures to satisfy internal quality and food safety parameters.
+ Support preparation and sampling of products for nutritional analysis.
+ Support continuous improvement teams/projects as needed.
+ Support cost saving and alternative vendor projects as needed.
+ Manage global broadline distribution center performance.
+ Partner with distributors and or suppliers to address reported concern.
+ Identify source accountability
+ Conduct & identify root cause
+ Review corrective action, preventative action planning
+ Review / assess credit responsibility
+ Close incidents within 3 to 5 business days.
+ Train / calibrate DC representatives on Popeyes quality incident protocols which include use of credit tracking capabilities in SpeQ system.
+ Work w/ SpeQ database to upload new supplier & distribution center representatives; as needed.
+ Conduct tracking & trending analysis of quality incidents by vendor.
+ Report significant non-conformances and or food safety / quality threats to global Dir. QA & Commercialization.
+ Manage cold chain temperature monitoring program (PIMM)
+ Manage quality management database to ensure all vendors maintain approved vendor status by meeting Popeyes quality expectations & standards.
+ Conduct quarterly unapproved spend audits on approved broadline distribution centers.
+ Partner with supply chain to address vendor related services that impact product quality.
+ Educate Director of QA & commercialization on new technologies as it pertains to vendor management.
+ Conduct routine product / process audits on vendors and / or jointly with 3rd party auditing provider.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Bachelor's degree, Food Science, Food Quality, Nutrition or equivalent scientific discipline
+ Process management experience in food safety and quality assurance programs preferred.
+ Possess product performance knowledge according to specification requirements
+ Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Communicate food safety and quality non-conformances to global QA / Commercialization director in a timely manner.
+ Ability to travel 25%, mostly local travel.
