ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate may be asked to travel to help additional locations within a reasonable geography.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree( GED).
  • Minimum one year experience with the safe operation of passenger cars, trucks, or other motorized vehicles in a variety of weather conditions. Must possess the ability to safely operate a passenger van independently on assigned route within established time schedules on crowded streets in all weather conditions. Requires a valid in-state drivers license, evidence of a safe driving history, and demonstration of excellent driving skills. May be required to obtain a commercial driver's license. Also requires the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance and cleaning.

Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The van driver position must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and associates. The position is responsible for assisting guests at all times, by providing safe, courteous and timely van/shuttle services to the guests of the property in accordance with the Company's Safe Driving Policy and all driving laws. The position conducts daily inspections of the vehicle and performs necessary cleaning duties to ensure a safe, efficient and clean motor vehicle. The position performs other cleaning, and support duties to assist the staff on site in order to ensure an optimum property appearance.

MAJOR / KEY JOB DUTIES

  • Demonstrates and promotes a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and associates.
  • Promotes positive guest relations and interactions with all guests by greeting guests in a pleasant and courteous manner, and providing guests with information concerning routes and schedules.
  • Operates the van/shuttle on schedule and within the designated route.
  • Regulates heating, cooling, lighting, ventilating systems, and radio for guest comfort.
  • Receives and responds to guest comments and suggestions and passes these to the Hotel Management team.
  • Advises Hotel Management on safety and route improvements, reports accidents and hazards as necessary.
  • Performs daily inspection of the vehicle and records results on the daily checklist to include checking and verifying the daily cleanliness, maintenance and safety features of the vehicle.
  • Conducts pre-trip vehicle inspections; performs vehicle walk through and walk-arounds before and after each trip; checks fluids and tires on vehicle before starting. Conducts inspections after each operation to note damage or defects including body damage, tires, radiator, lights, instruments, brakes, radio and other equipment. Informs Hotel Management as needed on all safety and maintenance issues.
  • Maintains a clean van both inside and outside; removes trash after each trip. Secures and turns in articles found in the van. Cleans the van interior and exterior as needed.
  • Follow ESA dress and grooming standards and maintain a courteous and friendly attitude.

OTHER DUTIES

  • During times when the van is not being operated or as directed by Hotel Management , the Van Driver will perform other duties to support the overall operation of the property. These may include but are not limited to picking up debris and cleaning, as necessary; emptying trash containers; cleaning public areas; assisting at the front desk, guest laundry, and providing various housekeeping and/or maintenance functions.
