We are currently searching for an HVAC Technician III to be based out of our Freeport, ME location. The successful candidate will perform senior level technician functions requiring advanced knowledge of maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting of various heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision performs various HVAC maintenance installation and troubleshooting tasks which include energy management and direct digital control system installations troubleshooting and programming.
  • Assists in the design and installation of a wide variety of HVAC-related projects. Maintains accurate documentation of new installations and modifications of existing equipment. Updates blueprints specifications and wiring diagrams as necessary.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on assigned HVAC equipment. Adjusts maintenance routines procedures and supplies necessary to maintain equipment at optimal operating efficiency.
  • Maintains Master level licensing EPA Refrigeration Certification and Propane and natural Gas licensing and up-to-date knowledge of national electric life safety and OSHA codes ensuring conformity with their requirements.
  • Researches and purchases supplies necessary for maintenance and project needs. Ensure expenses are appropriately documented and within budgeted parameters.
  • Knows follows and assists in the development of safety procedures and guidelines. Attends all necessary OSHA safety training classes. Helps to ensure contractors and Facilities personnel maintain compliance with appropriate safe working practices. Reports any unsafe acts or conditions to the appropriate person.
  • Assures appropriate communication of issues and problems to co-workers and leadership. Collaborates with team as needed to achieve objectives. Shares expertise in support of others to build technical and diagnostic strength in the team.- Participates in on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

  • Master-Level licensing in at least one HVAC related trade. (Plumbing and/or Piping)
  • EPA Refrigeration Certification.
  • Propane and Natural Gas licensing.
  • Required skills include troubleshooting of complex electrical control circuits magnetic motor starters and electrical distribution systems up to 480 volt 3 phase. Must be familiar with the safe operation of a wide variety of hand and power tools including oxygen/acetylene torches vacuum pumps refrigerant recovery equipment air and water balancing equipment etc.
  • Lifting standing dexterity repetitive motionetc.
  • Frequent ladder climbing.
  • Lifts up to approx. 50 lbs.
  • Stands up to 6 hrs. per day.
  • Valid driver's license.

Education Level: H.S. or Specialized Training

Experience Level: 7+ years
