Seasonal Site Manager – Kennywood/Idlewild

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Site Manager oversees Kennywood Amusement Park located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, and Idlewild and Soak Zone.   Responsible for day-to-day site operations by leading, inspiring and motivating your teams to maximize revenues while delivering the highest levels of guest service.

This position is a seasonal job.  Must be fully available every May through December.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit, onboard, train, develop, motivate and lead sales team (40-50 employees) on site.
  • Managers all employee relations issues in line with company policy and procedure. Administer progressive discipline including terminations. Liaise with the HR.
  • Plans, assigns and directs work of staff.
  • Conducts performance reviews. Recognizes and rewards. 
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Manage and lead workforce effectively. Maximize productivity and manage situations in line with employment legislation.
  • Ensure site photography operation is fully resourced. Produce and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels, adhere to relevant legislation.
  • Process stock orders to maintain stock levels and ensure accuracy of all media stock records.
  • Reach and maintain appropriate levels of competence regarding operation of registers and photography operating systems. Ensuring all equipment is used correctly, including print media.
  • Communicate openly and timely with staff.  Conduct/delegate daily briefing sessions and provide relevant information for maximizing productivity. 
  • Set budgets and targets, including revenue targets.
  • Minimize cost of sales by accurately managing stock, staffing costs and loss prevention.
  • Attend and participate in regular management meetings, providing all required information and documentation on time and in line with management requests.
  • Monitor and control costs according to the business forecast, including monitoring all statistical and financial data for the operation; prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on time; communicate results to team and management.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to change including adjusting site operations on an ad hoc basis in response to business requirements and site circumstances.
  • Develop and implement site operational policies and procedures to build and maintain strong working relationships with site management team, external suppliers, and Picsolve colleagues.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and disposition. Lead by example with time management and attendance. Maintaining staff and company confidentiality. Exercise a high degree of flexibility to meet business demands.
  • Proactively communicate and share business related ideas with all Picsolve colleagues.
  • Cooperate readily, politely and amicably with other company personnel.
  • Deliver excellent guest service all the time, every time.
  • Travel as needed to sites and conferences via various modes of transportation.
  • Observe, promote and comply with company policies.
  • Undertake any other duties which may be reasonably requested.
  • Receptive to a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be available for each full season:  May – December.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred
  • One to two years related experience and/or training.
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Valid drivers’ license with a good driving record.  Ability to travel as business requires.
