Job Description:

3M is seeking a Production Cell Lead for the Advanced Materials Division Business located in Salem, NH. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:

The Lead Production/Cell Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily activities within the manufacturing area as directed by the Production Supervisor, following all documented procedures for product manufacturing and assembly, equipment operation and safety requirements as documented in the company's quality system and 3M Employee Guidelines, facilitate Tier 1 meeting as required.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Observe all 3M Safety rules and regulations
  • Observe all 3M Employee Guidelines
  • Provide cell leadership with working knowledge to ensure that 3M-Ceradyne policies and procedures are being followed and completed
  • Serves as the production SME (subject matter expert) for problem solving and troubleshooting, with the guidance of the Production supervisor, and Engineering staff
  • Follow Leader Standard work outline for all daily activities
  • Maintain Tier 1 meeting and board
  • Ensure shift to shift pass-down information is transferred effectively during cell shift change
  • Provided guidance for their work cell in the absence of the production supervisor and/or manager
  • Cooperatively works with the guidance of Production, Engineering, Facilities or Quality manager
  • Assists the supervisor or manager with a variety of administrative, training, communication and operations tasks for their work cell
  • Perform plant shut down and start up as required
  • Proactively training in Lean manufacturing, problem solving and or additional work center by using Online and "OTJ" training methods. (ie: Gemba Academy, SAP training center, OMS certification)
  • Able to perform duties outside of established procedures with minimum supervision
  • Complete and certify training of Level I, II and III operators
  • Exhibit a positive and proactive attitude and adopt 3M leadership Behaviors

This position will require:

  • Working overtime
  • Working on holidays as needed
  • Short notice shift coverage
  • Working Shift B Weekends (6am to 6pm)
  • Working Shift C Weekdays (6pm to 6am)
  • Working Shift D Weekends (6am to 6pm)
  • Frequent physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)
