Cleveland Clinic, one of the world's most distinguished academic medical centers in the U.S., announces a search for the Chair, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Part of the Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic Institute, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has centers focused on Pediatric Orthopaedics, Hand and Upper Extremity, Musculoskeletal Tumors, Foot and Ankle, Joint Replacement and Adult Reconstructive Surgery, Sports Medicine and Spine Health. All centers have active programs in translational and clinical outcomes research. Our surgeons perform over 25,000 procedures per year, of which more than 7,000 are hip, knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, wrist and finger joint replacements – one of the highest volumes in the United States – for severe osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, trauma and other conditions. Cleveland Clinic orthopaedic specialists have pioneered innovative techniques and technologies that are now used worldwide for a range of orthopaedic problems.

U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Hospitals" survey consistently has rankedour orthopaedic surgery program third in the nation and Best in Ohio.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent record of clinical service, teaching and scholarship with strong experience in leadership, administration, mentoring and program development. Certification by the American Board of Orthopaedics in Orthopaedic Surgery and eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio is required. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
