In Red Wing, Our General Operators

Set up, adjust, and operate printing machines and prepare items processed for the next routing step. Ensures that only products meeting the highest company standards are passed onto the next step or packaged to ship to our customers. Must be able to read and understand work instructions, perform basic math functions, and make adjustments and/or minor repairs to equipment.

Primary Job Responsibilities: Efficiently operates semi-automated printing machines, inspects product to ensure quality then pack finished goods to ensure order accuracy and meet customer expectations.

  • Safety is always #1 priority
  • Examines product for ink smears, position of design, print clarity, color accuracy or other defects and adjusts equipment accordingly
  • Measures, centers, aligns and positions screens for proper operation
  • Ensures that the proper supplies are being used for printing
  • Ensures orders are printed according to specifications (quality, accuracy and layout)
  • May package product for shipping, ensuring only the best products are shipped to our customers
  • Changes tooling to accommodate the product to be printed
  • Monitors pre and post production process for quality standards
  • Monitors automatic feeding systems for best efficiencies
  • Performs preventive maintenance duties for equipment used
  • Maintains effective working relationships with other Associates
  • Maintains a clean and neat work area
  • Actively participates in and supports teamwork and continuous process improvement
  • Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to quality

Minimum Qualifications Include:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read/write and understand English
  • Must have a commitment to safety
  • Be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Be able to work OT as required, ensuring we meet our customer commitment is crucial for success

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Commercial printing experience
  • Experience with machinery and manufacturing
  • Understanding of upstream and downstream process management
