Job Summary

Our Southeast Region is actively seeking a Vice President, Principal Corporate Market Sector Leader to join our growing practice. This position could be seated in either our Atlanta, GA or Tampa, FL studios. The Vice President, Principal Corporate Market Sector Leader must have demonstrated experience building a successful practice that focuses on the skills needed to bring together all services (Architecture, Interiors, Engineering, Consulting and Planning) to support Corporate Real Estate in addressing their real estate portfolio requirements, regionally, nationally and globally.

As a Vice President, Principal, you will be responsible for the following:

Management

  • Provides day-to-day administration of the regional Corporate Market Sector practice

  • Is the primary liaison with the Business Unit Leadership

  • Will execute defined practice goals and business plan

  • Monitors the status of all Corporate Market projects

  • Regularly reports regional status to Corporate Market firm-wide leadership team

  • Assists in pursuit/client engagements, preparing project fee/scope responses, workload projections, monitors level of chargeability

Leadership

  • Develops and executes strategic practice planning and marketing strategies; will collaborate with Building and Places Business Line and Business Unit leadership

  • Periodically acts as Project Lead on specific projects or Client Account Manager for specific client relationships

  • Prepares and executes business plan for area of responsibility

  • Conducts interviews/presentations at the executive level

  • Speaks at client conferences and publishes in industry journals as a thought leader in the industry

  • Communicates business performance at the end of each accounting period

  • Understands the industry, regional client needs, and market drivers

  • Clear leader for all disciplines providing services to the Corporate Market Clients: Architecture, Interiors, Engineers, Consulting and Planning, as well as liaison with other Business Units such as Project Management/Construction Management and Construction Services

Business Development

  • Participates in developing annual business plan for the practice

  • Identifies new business opportunities while developing current client relationships

  • Participates in selected marketing and business development opportunities

  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with consultants, contractors and jurisdictional/approval agencies

  • Assists in development of fee proposals for marketing proposals as well as lead presentations with Business Line Leadership

  • Participates in local or state professional associations and conferences

Staff Development

  • Prepares and delivers staff evaluations

  • Participates in interviews and recruitment of professional staff

  • Conducts employee performance evaluations, responsible for performance development

  • Participates in office design reviews and critiques

  • Develops continuing education opportunities for the staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or similar discipline

  • 15+ years’ experience in architecture/interior architectural practice with prior management experience in all phases of projects through post-occupancy

  • Registered Architect (current license required) or Professional Interior Designer (passed NCIDQ exam)

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully build a practice within the corporate workplace sector

  • LEED credential required after 12 months of employment

  • Proven ability to successfully develop client relationships and win work

  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness

  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems

  • Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines

  • Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope

  • Proficiency in InDesign, MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint, or other presentation software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or similar discipline

  • If Registered Architect, NCARB registration

  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketchup graphic software

  • Proficiency in Oracle and Salesforce

  • Sustainability, resiliency and/or climate adaptation experience a plus but not a requirement
