Responsibilities

Role Purpose

This role will provide HR leadership to NBCUniversal's Cable Entertainment Content Studios – Universal Cable Productions (UCP) & Wilshire Studios. Primary responsibilities include providing HR and employee relations support across the LA, NY, Canada and international regions (i.e. employees working on production such as such as Suits, Mr. Robot, Unsolved, The Sinner, Magicians, and more!). The candidate will report to the SVP of HR, Cable Entertainment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support to Studio Productions including heavy employee relations activity, performance management, and compliance with HR policies & procedures for represented and non-represented employees.
  • Provide coaching to employees & managers, offering feedback and advice on issues in a proactive and compassionate manner.
  • Manage performance in partnership with Legal and Labor Relations.
  • Work with management to develop and implement training strategies to meet employee needs, including supervisory training.
  • Manage the HR kick-off process in person when a show first goes into production each season
  • Be the face of HR for all employees working on the studio productions

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors Degree

Minimum 10 years relevant HR experience, preferably as a manager, generalist or employee relations specialist.

Excellent leadership, problem solving, project management, and presentation skills

Ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees, managers and executives

Strong persuasion and conflict resolution skills

Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through and analytical skills

Ability to execute both strategic and tactical priorities

Solid written and verbal communication skills a must, including the ability to interface with others inside and outside of the company in a positive and professional manner

Able to work independently with the ability to juggle priorities and manage time to effectively meet deadlines

Media/Broadcast/Cable/Production experience preferred

Ability to and be comfortable working in both a corporate environment as well as a production environment

Sense of humor appreciated, quick thinking and approachable nature needed

Ability to work in a diverse, and fast paced environment
