3M is seeking an Inpatient Consultant for the Health Information Systems Division located in Atlanta, GA.

Job Summary/Visionary statement:

The person hired for the position of Inpatient Consultant will have a passion for imparting their knowledge and expertise in clinical documentation improvement to both their customers and their internal team members as well as providing innovative solutions to solve customers' business opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assume responsibility, with oversight, for engagements that are typically small to medium scale with the risk confined to the project and low to moderate business impact
  • Assigned tasks include medical record coding, documentation, compliance and DRG auditing for ICD-10 services
  • Providing education on coding, documentation, compliance and working with related 3M products and consulting service delivery, as well as specialty programs related to individual areas of expertise
  • Inpatient coding and/or Clinical Documentation Improvement education skills required

  • Inpatient coding and/or Clinical Documentation Improvement education skills required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited university
  • RHIA, RHIT, or RN Certification
  • Minimum of five (5+) years of clinical coding experience
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in HIM, Nursing, or other healthcare clinical background
  • ICD-10 Certified
  • Proven ability to maintain superior customer and employee relations in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, analytical and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to maintain a positive attitude in a team environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently and produce excellent results
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Location: Atlanta, GA or Remote

Travel: May include up to 75% domestic

Relocation: Is not authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
