Overview

Work hours will be evenings/nights, for 80 hours per pay period, and as needed. You will be required to flex to other shifts as needed. There is a holiday and every other weekend rotation.

The Emergency Department specializes in emergency medicine and operates 24 hours a day. The department sees a variety of patients from newborns to geriatrics who come by ambulance or walk in. The Emergency Dept. provides the initial treatment and stabilization of patients who come with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which can be life threatening.

Responsibilities

The Security/Patient Care Technician is to provide a safe and secure environment in the Finley Hospital Emergency Dept. Provides input in developing procedures which address the day-to-day physical investigative security needs of Finley Hospital. The Security/Patient Care Tech answers telephone and radio requests, and responds to such requests. The Tech records relevant calls, monitors security cameras and other equipment as directed.The Security/Patient Care Tech will also assist with patient bathing, vitals, perform blood sugar finger sticks, assist patients with eating, pass trays and pick up trays, answer call lights, transport labs, and assist the nurse as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED is required. Healthcare background - EMT, Paramedic, CNA - or previous security, criminal justice, military or law enforcement background is required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must get certified by the International Assn. of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) with the first year of employment.
  • Must get certified in ASP and Handcuffs course during the fist six months of employment.
  • CPR certification is required.
