Responsibilities and Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the Radiology Manager / Director, assist with officemanagement for the Radiology Department, which includes X-Ray, Mammography, CT, and MRI.

Coordinate and direct patient flow for multi-disciplinary department.Oversees and maintains computerized scheduling of patients, answering and directing phone calls appropriately. Assists the technologist in daily tasks according to department policy and procedure.Oversees efficient and accurate charge entry and chart maintenance according to department policy and procedures.Performs supply inventory ordering and management according to department fiscal year budget.Complies with departmental organizational policies and procedures.

Education: College degree or equivalent experience with specific training in office skills and management required. Experience: Experience with computers, inventory control, filing, reception and communicating with individuals of all ages is also required.Certifications: CPR certified or willing to become CPR certified for duration of position.Other: Must be familiar with current ICD-9 and ICD 10 codes and insurance verification processes using phone, web, and book verifications. Candidates must have some medical terminology course completion or equivalent knowledge. Good customer service skills and excellent written and oral communication, as frequent contact is made with patients and visitors of all ages, employees, physicians, and their staff, and insurance companies. Must be organized and have good follow-up skills in communicating with physicians, payers, office and leaders, coworkers, and patients. Must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a changing environment and be able to deal with periods of high patient volume demands.

Preferred Education: High Graduate and Associates DegreePreferred Experience: Previous clinical experience preferred with emphasis on knowledge of the Radiology department and business. Preferred Other: Must present a strong service/quality presentation with courteous behavior and good problem solving skills. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, type >50 wpm, strong computer skills, and a well-modulated telephone voice using proper grammar and pronunciation. Candidates must have the ability to effectively communicate with patients and family members who may have communication disorders, physical limitations, and cognitive deficits.
