Provide high quality patient care to adult OB/GYN patient populations at the Northville Health Center. We are actively seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees. Candidate will collaborate with multiple stakeholders in the Primary Care Clinic at NHC in the staff RN role to promote health and wellness for patients and families. This is a part time position with partial effort in specialty area coverage and primary care OB/GYN based on clinic needs.

Responsibilities*

Provide nursing care to patients and families in the Gynecology SubSpecialty and Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic at the Northville Health Center.

Provide nursing care in collaboration with Physicians and other disciplines for patients in clinic and via telephone to support efficient and effective management of patients.

Participate in the coordination of care, including testing, medication management, collaborative planning of care, support of self-management by patients/families, management of emergency situations, etc.

Provide patient and family education e.g., Trimester education, preoperative and postoperative care, etc.

Participate in quality improvement /LEAN thinking to improve workflow and processes.

May provide procedure support in collaboration with clinic support staff.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework REG NURSE - LEVEL C (B INC).

Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.

Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.

Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*

  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Two or more years of obstetrics and gynecology nursing experience (in the last 5 years).
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills in daily practice using the nursing process.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve in a collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with documenting care in an electronic medical record.

Desired Qualifications*

  • BSN
  • Experience in subspecialty gynecology
  • Demonstrated experience with telephone triage
  • One or more years of ambulatory care experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan care pre and post-operatively with a multidisciplinary team.

Work Schedule

Hours/week: 24 hours/week

Shift/Days/Hours: Monday through Friday; Day shift; variable start times that may include rotated extended hours and may include Saturday in the future. Hours vary depending on clinic operations.

Location: Northville Health Center

  • Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
