From parenting classes and experienced pediatricians to pediatric emergency care and dedicated pediatric intensivists. We offer an 6-bed pediatric intensive care unit with a team of pediatricians and registered nurses who are all highly experienced in caring for kids of all ages.

Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at Swedish Medical Center offers after hours urgent care through our dedicated Pediatric Emergency Room, designed to give children and parents expert attention separate from our adult treatment areas. A pediatrician and a pediatric physician assistant certified in emergency medicine staff the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at Swedish Medical Center Pediatric ER.

When children need more than routine medical care, Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at Swedish Medical Center has a dedicated pediatric team available to help him/her get back to good health. We have specially equipped pediatric trauma rooms, as well as board-certified pediatric intensivists on staff to treat the most serious injuries and illnesses. We have a six-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit that is designed to give extra attention to the children who need it most.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and understands the unique aspects of the population served in the care of his/her patients. Each service also requires specialized skills. The delivery of care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient. The Registered Nurse may rotate to areas other than his/her assigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency. The Registered Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

CurrentColorado Registered Nurse License.

CurrentBCLS, PALS required through AHA. ABLS and TNCC certifications recommended. EKG Interpretation competency or course.

Education:

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing., BSN preferred.

Experience:

Able to articulate and demonstrate appropriate nursing theory and practice. Experience requirements are specific to positions and departments as appropriate.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrates good organizational skills. Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Standards of Nursing Practice at SMC. Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
