About this job

The HR Generalist will take a business partner approach in guiding the development of employee relations and human resource polices and programs.  Provides advice and counsel in wide variety of areas including but not limited to; conflict resolutions, policy development and adherence, company and legal compliance, risk.  Also, may be involved in the development of appropriate metrics designed to measure the effectiveness of company policy and possible threats.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Systems & Process:
•	Conducts Home Office orientations for all positions and may support General Manager orientations as needed
•	Oversees the creations of metrics/surveys that track cultural health of the organization and measure 
        employee concerns and priorities, thereby proactively driving change
•	Manages vendor relations and legal resources
•	Responds to unemployment claims and supports hearings when necessary
•	Manages and supports HRIS system

Employee Relations & Culture:
•	Serves as a resource to employees and restaurant management in discussing and resolving employment issues
•	Provides objective feedback, makes recommendations on HELPLINE calls and/or issues 
•	Responsible for employee relations assistance to field management including investigation recommendation 
        and/or resolution 
•	Provide tactical advice and counsel on a wide range of management and workplace issues minimizing legal 
        exposure which maximize positive resolution 
•	Supports leadership with ER case management for restaurant employee separations
•	Provides advice with regard to policy questions and issues not clearly addressed in existing policies 
•	Conducts exit Interviews and stay interviews 

Compliance:
•	Provides advice and counsel supporting compliance with all applicable employment law and regulations (e.g., 
        ADA, FMLA, EEOC, non-discrimination in hiring and promotion, etc.)
•	Timely and accurately furnishes employee information to authorized person(s) and assists with matters 
        regarding human resource forms, records and procedures.
•	Audit and maintain I-9 data base, including follow up with restaurant locations on any issues.
•	Personnel file audits and maintenance
•	Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating 
        legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements
•	EEO-1 and other regulatory reporting

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•	Bachelor’s degree 
•	HR Certification: PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent preferred
•	4 – 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources or related field
•	Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations including ADA, FMLA, EEO, FLSA and EEO laws
•	Experience supporting various state and local ordinances and legislation 
•	Advanced ability to interpret, implement and develop policies and procedures in a complex environment
•	Proficient ability to develop, design and present material for audiences of all sizes
•	Proven investigatory, problem-solving and counseling skills
•	Ability to interface successfully with internal clients, external vendors and governmental agencies
•	Dependability, flexibility and professional demeanor
•	Regular and predictable attendance
•	Maintain high level of confidentiality, accuracy and attention to detail.
•	Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate documentation and reports; read, interpret, explain and apply information on business processes
•	Proficient computer skills, including basic MS Office skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
•	Prior experience with an HRIS
