Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Echo Technologist works under the supervision of the Director of Cardiopulmonary, performs vascular studies, Echocardiogram, Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo testing, Echo Contrast studies, Transesophageal Echo, and assists medical assistant with holter monitor hookups. Periodically performs EKG's as needed. In addition, the Echo Technician is responsible for charging, logging and archiving of procedures. Answers the phone, schedules appointments, works efficiently while communicating with other units in the hospital.May be assigned additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: Secondary and some post-secondary. Associate degree in nursing, radiology, respiratory therapy or other medical field, or completion of an approved ultrasound training programExperience: Less than one year.Certifications: CCI or RDCS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Within 1 year Of Hire--Oklahoma. Current AHA BLS Basic Life Support. Other: Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. The ability to relate testing knowledge and theory to ECHO procedures and equipment and to interpret results and isolate the most accurate readings is essential. Able to operate various office equipment, including a computer, fax machine, printer, phone.Preferred Education: Post-secondary (undergraduate).Preferred Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
