DESCRIPTION:

Maintains computing environment by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, upgrading, and documenting all PC and Laptop computers to ensure optimal workstation performance. The position also consists of providing telephone technical support for end-users. The incumbent will be responsible for troubleshooting problem areas in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

On-site and/or remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, along with recommending and implementation of corrective solutions
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot end-user workstations, phones, and related hardware and software in order to ensure required desktop service levels
Configure, maintain end-user phones as required
Assess the need for and implement performance upgrades to PCs and laptops, including the installation of CPUs I/O cards, hard disks, memory chips, DVD-ROMs, etc.
Implement light networking tasks in Microsoft Active Directory
Communicate application problems and issues to management, development teams and end users
Assist in the maintenance and inventory of all equipment, consisting of but not limited to PCs, monitors, laptops, printers and other components

Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

SPECIAL NOTE:

Knowledge of PC and laptop hardware components, both external and internal
Experience in installation and troubleshooting of operating systems (Windows 7/8, 10), Microsoft Office, and other software
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Strong written/verbal communication and customer service skills
Possess a positive attitude, is self-motivated, self-directed, with the ability to independently prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to quickly learn, understand and apply existing and new technologies
Ability to lift 50 pound
Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, subordinates, technical staff and users.
Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively, verbally and in writing.
Ability to complete work assignments while working with business analysts and other technical staff.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Ability to coordinate the activities of team members.
Ability to write read and interpret technical specifications, test cases, and software requirements.
Skill in analyzing and interpreting technical data.

PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming, or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and two years of experience.

PREFERRED YEARS’ EXPERIENCE:

Four (4) years of experience in systems programming, networking, and telecommunications.
