About this job

Candidate must be a highly motivated, independent individual with integrity to manage regional sales. He or she is expected to manage, grow and service new and existing customers, splitting time between the home office and sales calls abroad to build Covington’s relationship with the customer. The regional sales manager will have some freedom to make decisions independently and work with the sales team to achieve mutual goals.

What you’ll be doing:
- Sustain regular communication with customers to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
- Increase sales in assigned area
- Supply quotes to customers as needed
- Locate and contact potential new customers and recommend products based on their needs and interests
- Work with the internal shops to coordinate work and customer needs
- Maintain CRM inputs and history of customer interactions
- Physically visit customers and make new contacts in the area
- Attend trade conventions and meetings in assigned regional area
- Organize travel arrangements
- Assist other sales representatives as needed

Success in this position requires
- Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques, business etiquette, and strategic planning methods.
- The skills to maximize profit/loss ratio, manage work time, proficiently use Microsoft Office suit and ACT! contact management system, speak publicly using persuasion and negotiation techniques, utilize judgment and decision making, active listening and learning, and think critically.
- The ability to make cold calls, maintain integrity in all dealings, travel extensively throughout assigned region, proven written and oral comprehension and communication, use inductive and deductive reason, work independently, and collaborate with other sales managers.

Requirements

Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in business (bachelor's degree in business preferred)
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- No prior sales experience required, but experience is preferred
