Job Overview:

Plan, execute and administer the Professional Services Retail Technology activities involving the technical consultation, solution selection, installation and support of strategic SUPERVALU retail store technology systems, in order to achieve customer satisfaction, maximize customer retention, and support achievement of budgeted sales and profits for assigned retail customers.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Manage Retail Technology retailer relationships to include establishing individual retailer technology implementation plans with assigned SUPERVALU affiliated retailers, in conjunction with Retail Technology leadership, Regional Marketing, Category Management and Development departments.
  • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks. Interact with the Retail Technology leadership to initiate the hardware/software maintenance for all Professional Services products installed at retailers throughout assigned retail territory. Monitor service provider performance, remain informed of developments, and take corrective/appropriate actions.
  • Evaluate and diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions, including recommendation of alternative SUPERVALU approved solutions. Provide technical consulting on immediate and long-term retailer needs and opportunities.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches. Provide on-site customer support when required for Professional Services product offerings.
  • Responsible for performance against goals and objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry developments, changes and improve professional skills by attending industry conferences, corporate Professional Services product training sessions and related education classes or seminars as recommended and approved by the Retail technology leadership team.
  • Ensure that the Retail Technology leadership team is apprised of any situations or issues which potentially could have significant impact on the region/department performance.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a technical degree, college degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have or ability to attain a driver's license (and be insurable).
  • Ability to work non-standard and variable work schedules.
  • Demonstrated field service experience in a retail-centric technology environment.
  • Familiarity with traditional field service mobility tools and applications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the QIR certification. Ability to obtain and maintain additional technical certifications as identified.
  • Demonstrated ability to providing consultative technical services in a retail technology environment.
  • Intermediate technical troubleshooting skills (identifying and addressing issues beyond what's covered in a troubleshooting technical guide).
  • Intermediate networking skill (ability to identify and connect/setup simple networking components – modem, router, switch, and confirm it's functional, as well as perform client-side networking consultation).
  • Experience installing and supporting payment system technologies such as POS technology (technical focus) and credit card terminal / EMV terminal.
  • Experience with common retail systems such as retail host pricing systems (note: for installing host), retail timeclock systems (ex: Kronos), and other retail systems as identified.
  • Ability to respond to customer needs during non-standard times (nights, weekends).
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
