SUMMARY

The Education Coordinator's responsibility first and foremost is to deliver a premium customer experience by inspiring creativity within our customers and making JOANN their happy place! All Team Members strive to drive sales through advanced product knowledge, innovative merchandising, cutting counter accuracy and an enthusiastic attitude. Education Program specialist is responsible for inspiring customers to learn and engage with our products via classes and special events held in our stores. This role is responsible for executing learning events that include filling classrooms with students, securing the best instructors, scheduling classes/events and providing an inspiring environment for each and every participant. The Education Coordinator will also embody the characteristics that tie back to the duties of Brand Ambassador, Operational Excellence, Business Acumen and Inspirational Leader.

BRAND AMBASSADOR

  • Greets every JOANN customer and uses the F.A.S.T. service model to meet the customer's needs
  • Asks open-ended questions to learn about customers' project needs and escorts them to the desired product's location
  • Engages in friendly conversation with customers about their projects while serving them at the cutting counter, cash register, and sales floor

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Observes instructors to ensure they follow our standards and expectations for customers experiences while learning in-store
  • Actively engage customers, offer advice and product knowledge and works to fill classroom seats by teaching customers about our education programs and offerings
  • Recruit, hire, train and support instructor team, always putting customer needs first
  • Schedules classes as directed - meets all due dates with the best suited dates and times to drive customer sign ups and filling classes to capacity

BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Seek out opportunities to learn more about tips, techniques and products sold in our stores
  • Monitors feedback on quality of class delivery and content and ensures feedback is shared with leadership team and SSC partners

INSPIRATIONAL LEADER

  • Ensure instructors are prepared, engaged, and teaching the "how" and "why" of a skill
  • Trains team members on Education program and class sign-up process

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience in a customer centric environment
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
