Performs aircraft and off equipment work as assigned to include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, modification, reassembly, test and replacement of aircraft hydraulic assemblies. Required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties. Technical guidance is frequently required from lead or mechanic as required to complete assignments or to assure proper selection of tools or procedures. Work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments. Must be customer oriented.

Disassemble, clean, test, inspect, repair reassemble aircraft hydraulic assemblies and associated components in accordance with Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMIs), Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), Maintenance Requirements Cards (MRCs), Technical Directives (TDs), Navy instructions, manufacturer's manuals, company instructions and other approved data.

Operate hydraulic component test stands.

Coordinate with supervision and Quality Assurance to resolve questions concerning serviceability and/or repair procedures.

Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials and equipment as required.

Document work accomplished on Maintenance Action Forms (MAF) or NALCOMIS. Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around assigned work area. Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations including participation in FOD walk down when directed. Responsible for adhering to the company tool control program.

Comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable, to the contract, facilities and job assignment. May be required to perform simple computer input and extraction functions. Perform corrosion control cleaning, prevention, and treatment as required. Perform preventative maintenance on assigned shop and support equipment. Comply with established hazardous waste program and Local, State, and Federal Environmental Protection Agency regulations. May be required to perform off-site services on assigned detachments. Assist when directed to ensure safety, security and preservation of Government owned and company owned equipment and property. May be required to perform duties of Accumulation Point Coordinator when authorized and designated.

May be required to assist other mechanics or workers in the performance of their duties during periods of personal or sick leave, vacation, breaks, reserve duty or during increased workload periods. Will be required to wear a respirator while performing assigned duties. Perform other reasonably related incidental duties when directed

Minimum of three (3) years recent aircraft hydraulic experience.

Previous experience in an intermediate level hydraulic work center, with operational knowledge of various hydraulic component test stands.

A thorough working knowledge of assigned aircraft hydraulic component inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification and maintenance procedures.

Knowledge of OPNAVINST 4790.2 Series and other applicable Navy instructions, Maintenance Instruction Manuals, Illustrated Parts Breakdowns, manufacturer's manuals and company instructions.

Maintain knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheet and applicable safety precautions.

Must have a valid state operators license and be able to pass the Government licensing requirements.

Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
