Position Title Electrical Engineer III

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineer III for immediate employment in the Tampa, Fl office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities

  • Interpret and implement client standards into code complainant designs

  • Survey and evaluate existing conditions in order to formulate a fully coordinated scope of work within your code compliant electrical designs

  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

  • Assist with the electrical design of power, lighting, fire alarm, low voltage systems for K-12 schools and higher education facilities

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 5+ years of consulting engineering experience

  • Relevant experience in Electrical design and the preparation of design and construction documents

  • Competent in all conventional aspects of Electrical engineering and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard Electrical engineering techniques, procedures and criteria

  • Knowledge of and experience with Department of Defense requirements including Unified Facilities Criteria UFC

  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems

  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to serve in the role as a Project Manager responsible for a multi-disciplinary team in the development of comprehensive, coordinated construction documents for small to large diverse and complex projects

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel, potentially 15%-20% of the time

  • Knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AGI, SKM, MS Office and AutoCAD)

  • Interpret and implement client standards into code complainant designs

  • Survey and evaluate existing conditions in order to formulate a fully coordinated scope of work within your code compliant electrical designs

  • Knowledge of low voltage, medium voltage, lighting, lightning protection, fire alarm and grounding design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain by reciprocity within 3 months of hire

  • Project management experience

  • Revit experience

  • Experience in Federal, industrial, aviation, facilities, high rise, wastewater or attractions design

  • Experience in medium voltage design

  • Registered Communications Designer (RCDD)
