We are hiring a lead role that runs the kitchen when the Kitchen Manager is not presentThis lead role directs and participates in the cooking, seasoning, baking and the preparation of foods including, but not limited to salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods. Directs and participates in proper ordering, handling and storage of all food supplies. Ensures that each item served is properly prepared and presented, ensuring customer satisfaction. Completes accurate inventories, as assigned.

Major Functions:

  • Plans, directs and participates in daily cooking/prep schedules to ensure that all menu items can be prepared and ready to go as ordered.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of menu item, performs checks to monitor stock levels and ensure recipe adherence.
  • Cleans, cuts, and prepares foods designated for cooking.
  • Compiles food required by patron, and prepares and cooks food according to customer instructions.
  • Verifies that prepared food meets requirements for quality and highest quantity.
  • Maintains and operates all cooking/prep foodservice equipment; ensures that equipement and wares are properly stored. Performs daily line checks to ensure equipment is operating properly according to food safety guidelines.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.
  • Performs shift change and/or open/closing duties.
  • Works with all kitchen/bar staff to maintain compliance with company policies and guidelines
  • Special projects as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years cooking and prep work in a quality food service establishment
  • Excellent working knowledge of all cooking/prep foodservice equipment
  • Holds required foodservice certification, and or able to obtain certification. Outstanding knowledge of all food-handling laws and guidelines
  • Passion for hospitality and culinary arts.
