Position Overview:

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

About the Role:

You are responsible for how the brand's mission and values translate to design, overseeing the brand expression across all touchpoints and channels.

What you'll do:

  • Mentor and influence a large team of Art Directors, and Designers working across Content, and Shoots; directly managing the Content development
  • Partner with internal Agency to execute to the crafted vision.
  • Partner with VP of Creative and Merch team on the overall vision for the visual expression of the brand organizationally and strategically - including a deepened understanding brand health and articulation, external communication, brand architecture and evolution
  • Innovate on tools and formats for brand education across the company, developing bespoke yet repeatable workshops for teams as needed
  • Push the brand and how it's experienced into new places - innovating on the types of products and experiences
  • Oversight on multi-faceted and multimedia projects, with the brand and mission in mind
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the brand, working with key leaders on both teams to ensure the creative vision of the company is translating over and is mutually beneficial
  • Amplify our place in the industry as a first-class creative workplace
  • Similarly, scout and attract key talent for staff, freelance and project-based collaboration opportunities
  • Manage and oversee a budget in conjunction with tracking allocated resources and metrics to leverage business goals
  • Provide onboarding, mentorship, continual education for latest brand evolution, process, and performance to design team as well as other departments
  • Manage the quality and ensure consistent, strong design output across platforms
  • Identify key collaborators and contributors across mediums
  • All while fostering a thriving, inspirational, and immensely creative work environment for the team

What you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in design, branding and photography
  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, branding & visual communication, architecture, industrial design, or digital media, plus significant experience demonstrating creative sophistication in concepts and design
  • Deep creative leadership and design management experience, ideally within large organizations, developing people and their careers on teams of 10+
  • Proven care and attention to the craft including the ability to demonstrate, through portfolio and conversation, a well-developed understanding of good design fundamentals like color, type, hierarchy,
  • Experience creating a culture of constructive critique and deploying effective design methodologies like creative concepts, user-centric design thinking, and prototyping
  • Understanding of and ideally direct experience with iterative product design, development, and continuous deployment
  • Strong desire to develop creatively and push the visual brand forward
  • Deep knowledge of and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Products (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Etc.) (Keynote and Powerpoint familiarity is a plus).
