The Head Cashier is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of cashiers, training of newly hired employees, customer satisfaction, and cleanliness of front end areas during appointed shift and beyond. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Ordering, Rewards Club Card maintenance, promotional roll out, oversight of all aspects of the store's point of sale operations and maximizing sales and productivity on the sales floor. Responsibilities: •Perform all forms of transactions quickly and accurately in accordance with established cash control procedures •Troubleshoot point of sale problems •Maintain and train associates in awareness of all sales and promotions•Solicit customers to open an "Ace Rewards" account•Maintaining front-end product, displays, and job stations ti company policies and procedures•Actively engaging front-end recovery needs with regards to cleaning, maintaining store supplies, and facility maintenance •Assist in the training and development of new hires•Personally, engaging one’s own product knowledge development with access to in-house training sources and independent research and exploration •Maintaining a friendly, positive, and professional approach to all aspects of this Head Cashiering position
Requirements
Requirements: Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred. Retail Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a similarly related retail environment * • Proficient experience in retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel, various POS systems, and cash handling • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Exceptional organization skills, high attention to detail, and ability to approach position requirements with an exceptional level of efficiency • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evening, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business Physical Requirements The minimum physical requirements for this position include: • Must be able to stand for 8 or more hours per shift • Must be able to lift 40lbs • Job responsibilities are subject to change based on the needs of the business.
