The Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM) has an opening for a Vice President of Regulatory and Quality Services. HCAM is the premier professional association representing skilled nursing and assisted living communities. The position allows for engagement with long-term care providers and other stakeholders on regulatory and quality issues impacting members.  The candidate would assist members with survey and enforcement situations, influence change in federal and state regulatory policy, and serve on various workgroups formed by state government and other interested organizations.  Essential/Key Duties and Responsibilities: ·         Represents and advocates the views and interests of member facilities to various governmental agencies and the legislature.  ·         Studies and analyzes proposed policy, regulations and legislation to determine possible effect on interests of HCAM members. ·         Monitors survey statistics and enforcement for trends and patterns for Michigan and CMS Region V states.  ·         Assists members with interpreting and implementing new information and regulations as well as resolving outstanding issues with state, regional and national regulatory agencies.  ·         Answers member inquiries pertaining to federal and state licensing and certification compliance issues, federal and state survey and enforcement process, and provides model policies/procedures and compliance compilations.   Education/Skill Requirements: ·         At least five years of experience in legislative, government, regulatory or nursing facility executive leadership/NHA; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ·         Strong understanding of federal and state regulations impacting long-term care. ·         Working relationships with federal and state agency personnel. ·         Bachelors' degree in public administration or healthcare related field. ·         Some travel required, occasionally overnight and out of state.   Please send resumes to regulatory@hcam.org.
