PAY GRADE:16GRADE RANGE:     $34,000.00 - $60,500.00TIER CODE:            1REPORTS TO:Accounting Supervisor SUMMARY:Performs daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end general accounting functions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:•Assists in the preparation of income and balance sheets, consolidated statements and various other accounting reports•Prepares journal entries as needed  •Analysis of data may require detailed research into various books and records•Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal vouchers, accounting classifications assigned to various records•Performs account analysis for balance sheet, income, and expenses accounts•Prepares balance sheet reconciliations monthly, including research and resolution of reconciling items•Tracks construction in progress costs and notifies operations of potential overspending•Accurately and correctly maintains records of additions, disposal and transfers of fixed assets and related depreciation•Serves as backup for all payroll functions performed by the payroll accountant•Assists in assembling information for various local, state and federal audits and assists auditors as necessary•Prepares tax returns for tribal, federal, and state reporting•Performs all accounts payable and receivable duties •Must project professionalism, and a consistently friendly demeanor •Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same•Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
•	Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field 
•	Must have strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and detail oriented with strong analytical skills 
•	Must be able to function both independently and as a member of a team 
•	Willingness to work various shifts including weekends and holidays 
•	Proficient in Accounting and Financial Analysis 
•	Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and 10-key 
•	Must be able to copy, scan, and set up files
•	Understanding of GAAP 
•	Two years’ experience in an automated accounting environment 
•	Ensure accurate reporting and demonstrate job ownership for all items completed 
•	Ability to meet attendance guidelines set forth in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Employee Handbook
•	Must present a well-groomed professional appearance and maintain uniform/appearance standards set forth in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Employee Handbook
•	A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment 
•	Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Preferred
•	Three years previous experience in Casino Accounting 
•	Knowledge of inventory processes

•	Must be able to meet the level three or medium work requirements based on the Department of Labor Dictionary of Titles:  Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
