MAINTENANCE WORKER - Full-time

Town of Myersville 301 Main Street Myersville, Maryland 21773 Position Description Position: Maintenance Worker Status: Part-time (20-25 hours per week) Compensation: $14.00 - $16.00/ hr. Start Date: February 20, 2018 Summary of Position: This is a part-time position with the Town of Myersville. Employee will serve at the direction of the Town Manager. Position involves semi-skilled labor, landscape and small equipment operation. Work involves responsibility for performing a variety of tasks in maintaining municipal facilities and infrastructure. Duties and Responsibilities: Operates and maintains a variety of vehicular equipment. Performs a variety of manual tasks including landscaping of parks, street maintenance, building upkeep and utility line repairs. Performs some custodial maintenance at municipal buildings and facilities. Conduct water meter readings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Have experience and knowledge of use of landscaping maintenance equipment including commercial mowers and various trimming equipment. Have some knowledge and skill with heating, plumbing, and electrical fixtures. Have some experience with operation and maintenance of manual and power construction tools and equipment. Maintain a working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions and possess the ability to understand oral and written instructions and work independently. Possess sufficient physical strength and ability to do strenuous and heavy manual work for long periods of time such as standing, bending, lifting, reaching, and stooping. Minimum Experience and Training: High school diploma or GED, valid Maryland drivers license. Must have own vehicle for employment duties.
