Job Description:

Purpose

This position is responsible for the creative workflow process for and manage internal and external commercial sales accounts. This position is responsible for the special needs related to the commercial business in their assigned location. The PSM works to create an inviting shopping environment for commercial customers by meeting their needs quickly and fully.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent. College degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years retail sales experience and proven ability to sell.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Ability to perform in a high volume, highly complex location.
  • Excellent communication, delegation, follow-up, and team work skills.

Essential Functions
  • Generates sales outside of the store.
  • Must be able to enter commercial customers and prepare reports using the company’s point of sale ("POS") system.
  • Builds relationships with outside commercial customers and Protected Accounts (see below).
  • Generates up to 20 new outside sales as "Protected Accounts" from which residual commissions will be earned on any sales.
  • Complete and successfully pass all product training classes.
  • Stay current on all products.
  • Must make weekly visits to the job sites of Protected Accounts, make telephone calls to check on their needs and progress and keep a log of the Protected Accounts’ activity and sales.
  • May perform additional duties as outlined in the non-commissioned Pro Sales Manager position description.
Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)
  • This position is hourly/salaried/salaried non-exempt, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week

  • Maintain composure in dealing with executives, customers, vendors, applicants, and staff, in group settings and in situations requiring high performance and results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with customers and store personnel; maneuver around sales floor, warehouse and store office; lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Open availability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, store openings and closings according to the needs of the business.
Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Store Support Center Associates

Provide leadership and support training on all Safety programs, processes and procedures, insuring that every associate is properly trained for their position.

Follow established Safety procedures in all aspects of work assignments applicable to the position. This includes participating in all Safety related training and acquiring certifications. Each associate is responsible for Safety at the Store Support Center and when visiting other company work locations. All Safety concerns must be brought to the attention of the management of a location and/or the Store Support Center Safety Department immediately.
