Description

Description/Job Summary Supervises the QA department to operate within established company policies and guidelines for food safety, food quality and legality - including HACCP, SSOP's, GMP's, customer specifications, etc. Develop, document and implement programs and procedures to ensure that company, customer and regulatory specification are met. Conduct and document audits of the facility to assure effectiveness of GMP's, Pest Control, Glass Control, HACCP, SSOP's, facility condition, etc. - Responsibilities/Duties
  1. Provide oversight and training to all QA personnel in Food Safety and Quality Assurance procedures.
  2. Be the liaison between the company and FSIS/USDA inspectors
  3. Assists the FSQA Manager in leading the plant to obtain the proper level of Quality and Food Safety
  4. Conduct quality measurements as needed to assess process capability
  5. Hands on involvement in all Food Safety problems that arise during the shift and developing appropriate solutions and corrective actions/preventative measures for those problems.
  6. Audit all Quality and Food Safety records and providing timely feedback to management.

Required Experience Bachelor of Science preferably in Food Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Operations Management, Biology, Chemistry and 2-3 years or Commensurate experience.
HACCP Certification
Knowledge of USDA Regulations including GMP/SSOP/HACCP and Labeling.
Must have experience with Food Safety/Quality style audits.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to multitask while maintaining required timelines.
Knowledge/experience with Microsoft computer software.
Familiarity with GFSI/BRC requirements
Fluent in English and Spanish highly recommended but not required.
