Job Description:

3M is seeking an Orthodontic Clinical Training Specialist for the 3M Oral Care Solutions Division. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Orthodontic Clinical Training Specialist will be responsible for training and collaborating in the education of orthodontic professionals on custom orthodontic products and systems, as well as co-developing training curriculum and protocol for orthodontic professionals and support staff. The role will involve understanding the capabilities of the various custom products and work flow systems and efficiently training users to help them integrate these systems into their daily practices. These systems include but are not limited to customer-facing software treatment programs, digital intraoral scanners, CAD/CAM design software, and 3D printing.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Co-develop beginner and advanced training curriculum and protocols for assigned 3M solutions using a variety of learning mediums.
  • Update curriculum/protocols as needed.
  • Provide hands-on technical/clinical training to a variety of audiences in the practice
  • Define workflow integration protocol for orthodontic professionals
  • Provide ongoing clinical integration support of new and existing customers to accelerate adoption of their custom orthodontic products and systems
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the training team on training delivery, design and materials for ongoing program development
  • Provide ongoing feedback from customers to the internal global business and R&D teams
  • Provide product, software and workflow demonstrations to individuals/groups of orthodontic professionals
  • Provide product training support to universities and opinion leaders to generate increased users of custom orthodontic products and systems
  • Contribute orthodontic expertise to the development of product use, performance and protocols
  • Interface with cross-functional business teams to collaborate on training process, protocols, and integration
  • Participate in tradeshows and special events
  • Assist orthodontic field specialists in co-selling and uptake of the orthodontic custom system offerings

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a high school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Certification as Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of orthodontic clinical work experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Experience in aligner treatment in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Clinical experience with digital custom workflows used in orthodontics in a private, public, government, or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Strong team and customer orientation with successful experience in coaching, motivating and training.
  • High level of proficiency in office desktop applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Skype, Zoom).
  • Must be able to speak knowledgably about orthodontic products and clinical procedures
  • Demonstrates strong presentation and coaching skills
  • Is self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Has exceptional drive, creative energy, outstanding people skills, and is truly a team player
  • Operates with a healthy sense of urgency

Location: US Remote Based

Travel: May include up to 60% domestic

Relocation: Is not authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
