OVERVIEW:

Working as a Full-Time Engineer, you will use your technical knowledge to work directly with Fastenal's sales and branch teams to help develop, sell, and implement new opportunities. Additionally, you will be the primary engineering resource for your geographic territory and a prescribed book of business. This position allows an engineer to work with a diverse group of customers and the products they produce.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

oProviding exceptional technical support both internally and externally

oMaintaining relationships with our customer¿s engineering/technical staff

oBringing new sales opportunities to the company

o Assisting in customer product design by providing technical support

oSupporting sales efforts by presenting on topics that are your area of expertise

oIdentifying opportunities for product changes or substitutions that result in improved function and/or cost savings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

o A valid driver's license and the ability to meet our driving record requirements

oPossess or are working towards a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or other related field OR previous experience in the fastener industry

o Excellent written and oral communication skills

oProficient using Microsoft Office Suite

oAbility to adapt to a wide variety of environments

oStrong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities

o Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented

o Strong math aptitude

oComfortable making high-level, group sales and product presentations

oAbility and Willingness to travel 50% or more with some overnights required

oAbility to pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY).
