As the Development Leader, You will be part of a dynamic, entrepreneurial, nimble team focused on meeting the needs of our unique customer base while advancing technologies and solutions to meet tomorrows challenges.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this senior leadership position, you will lead customer growth initiatives and develop capabilities, concepts and solutions that solve challenging customer needs and promote advanced technology and avionics systems solutions.

The Development Leader position requires senior level experience and a track record of successes in creatively driving business growth and performing business development / relationship management with aircraft OEMs, partner organizations and US Government R&D Labs within the aerospace and defense industry.

In particular, as the Development Leader, you will ...

Generate new business opportunities and manage projects within the A&SP customer base, which includes:

  • Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works)

  • Boeing Phantom Works

  • Northrop Grumman Advanced Programs

  • US Government S&T organizations to include:
  • AFRL
  • ONR
  • SOCOM
  • ARL
  • DARPA
  • DIU
  • SCO
  • and other US Government organizations

As Development Leader, You will also:

Generate business strategies and capture plans

Generate and lead proposal efforts

Establish financial projections and forecasts

Make strategic recommendations to business leaders and to our customers on creative solutions that you conceive

Develop leading edge solutions for complex customer problems in the military market

Grow the business via robust customer engagement strategies and the uncovering of new opportunities for current and future products, markets and capabilities

Work closely with GE's Global Research Centers and the broader GE enterprise

Lead complex planning and negotiations requiring involvement of many stakeholders both internal and externally

Manage customer-focused projects from the pursuit through initial execution phases

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field of study from an accredited university or college

Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development

Minimum of 1 year of project management experience

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

Active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to be cleared to higher levels in a timely manner as required

Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 50%

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics:

To truly excel in this role, you'll need:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development with a strong preference given to those who have demonstrated experience in capturing DoD related programs with a high preference for aircraft / weapon system and technology development programs

Experience with aircraft vehicle and mission avionics / systems

A track record of documented accomplishments in doing business with and established relationships within advanced technology organizations, such as Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works), Boeing Phantom Works, Northrop Grumman Advanced Programs and US Government S&T organizations

A track record of documented accomplishments in generating and leading capture campaigns

An entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to be agile and operate in a highly dynamic and fast paced team environment

Experience working DoD classified programs

Critical thinking skills to resolve and manage complex issues

Demonstrated ability to lead teams to successful outcomes in a matrixed organization

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Master's degree from an accredited university or college

DoD acquisition (as a DoD employee) and / or military operational flight experience
