Payroll Specialist

Looking to hire an experienced Payroll Specialist. Ideal candidate will have two years of experience with multi state payroll as well as being proficient in Quickbooks.

Job Responsibilities:

-Prepare and process (in-house) a weekly multi-state payroll for approximately 200 employees
-Calculate, collect and submit to the appropriate agencies any mandated Income Withholding Order payments on file (child support, garnishments, liens, etc.), along with maintaining accurate employee information on the child support websites (when applicable)
-Verify and file (paper or electronic) any required monthly/quarterly/annual tax filings (State and Federal)
-Prepare and file the monthly Occupation Privilege Tax (OPT) filing
-Review and submit the weekly workers' compensation payment, along with maintaining accurate employee information on the worker's compensation website (when applicable)
-Prepare and submit certified payroll, when applicable
-Initiate calls to appropriate states/departments to set up any/all new accounts (unemployment, state income tax, etc.) when new contracts and projects arise
-Other work as assigned
Transfer and enter time from timecards and timesheets into QuickBooks (Enterprise) software, with the ability to calculate and determine varied shift differentials, fringe benefits, and job costing
-Analyze data quickly to determine when the information provided is questionable (time, benefits, time off, etc.)
-Pull any/all necessary reports to prepare certified payroll, with electronic submittal of same to designated website(s)
