The Park City Ticket Scanning team is a tight-knit group of professionals that are passionate about spreading their enthusiasm for our community, our mountain, and snow sports.  Ticket scanners interact with every guest that visits our resort; engaging them as they load the lift, answering any questions they may have, and ensuring every guest has a proper ticket.  The ideal scanning lead candidate is detail oriented, excels in a leadership position, has a passion for providing exceptional guest service, an ability to stay positive during challenging situations, and an eagerness to learn about Park City Mountain and spread that knowledge to our guests.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Greet, engage, and scan every guest.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of customer interactions while delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Provide resort, village and local information to the guest.
  • Adhere to all departmental and company policies and procedures
  • Ensure a safe environment for our guests and fellow employees.
  • Take ownership of the lift maze as your office and keep it clean, tidy and safe as able.
  • Lead scanning team at designated lift.
  • Timely and equitable distribution of ticket scanner breaks.
  • Monitor and adjust staffing levels according to business levels
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and enforce department policies.
  • Efficient and tactful resolution of guest ticket issues, collaboration with the ticket office when necessary.
  • Handle fraudulent pass use situations efficiently and follow departmental fraud procedures.  Seek assistance from supervisor when needed.
  • Ensure proper function of handheld scanners and scanning network.
  • Professional and effective communication with guests and internal departments.  Frequent contacts include Ticket Sales, Lift Operations, Security, Mountain Safety, SKi School and Ski Patrol.
  • Foster a culture of fun within your team, department, and resort.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of Guest Service Experience (required)
  • At least 1 years of Leadership Experience (preferred)
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must enjoy working with people and interacting with guests.
  • Ability to stand for the entire work day.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions – including but not limited to snow, extreme cold, and wind.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour at all times.
  • Able to work unsupervised, including establishing priorities, working independently or within a group, and proceeding with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as necessary.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule
    • FT: Five (5) set shifts per week. Shifts are typically (8) hours from 8am-4pm.  Limited morning and night shifts are an additional (2) hours each from 6:30am-9am and 4pm-6pm.
    • Scanners may be sent home at any time at the discretion of scanning leadership to adapt to crowding levels.
  • Employment Dates: November 11th, 2017- April 8th, 2018.
  • Required training: November 11th & 12th, 2017 - Returning employees November 12th, 2017.
