Responsibilities and Qualifications
OverviewEntry level position at Mercy Cassville that assists with food preparation for patients and staff. Responsible for tray/plate assembly and ware washing/sanitation duties. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
The Dietary Services Department of Mercy Aurora/Cassville Hospital shall meet the nutritional and therapeutic needs of the patients according to doctor's orders, provide meals for personnel and guests, and provide meals and refreshments for special functions as requested and/or approved by Administration.
The Food Service Tech I responsibilities are:
Prepares beverages and cold food itemsPrepares snacks and stocks food items for nursing unitsDemonstrates accuracy with tray assemblyAssures attractiveness of patient traysDemonstrates proper portion controlDemonstrates warewashing (dishes and pots) with accepted proceduresCleans floors according to outlined procedure.Records food and refrigeration temperatures as outlined Assists with rotation of food stocks. Covers, labels, and dates food items. Maintains work area according to approved sanitation practices and procedures.Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate. Observes universalprecautions consistently. Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent withdress code, and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomedappearance. Meets Health System attendance standards. Performs related duties asassigned.
