The Virtual System Engineer in Virtual Electrified Powertrain (ePT) and Systems Group is responsible for supporting ePT components and systems design, development & optimization, and virtual control strategy development in advance through existing commercial or developed virtual analysis tools by working closely with other ePT groups.
The core responsibilities of the Engineer will include but are not be limited to:
- Develop physics models to assess vehicle & PT system level interactions
- Predict overall vehicle performance (fuel consumption, emissions, transient response and cost) in different driving conditions
- Provide components design direction, and control strategy development & optimization through System Integration
- Assist in identifying opportunities for applying artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning technique to Powertrain (PT) controls and automated customer preference identification
- Coordinate the activities of PTV with multiple other groups of PT and ePT- Coach and train junior system engineering professionals
