Our stores are really busy — we’re changing lives every day — and we are looking for Sales Associates for our Goodwill Retail Stores and Training Centers. This Sales Associate position would be responsible for inspecting and pricing donated items including apparel, toys, books, household items and collectables based on established quality standards; and organizing, stocking and maintaining our sales floor to ensure a clean and presentable store for our customers. Cashier training would include operating a cash register and answering telephones while providing excellent customer service.

We have a variety of days and hours available. Candidates must have open availability for work hours that may include daytime, at least 1-2 nights a week and every other weekend. Position Responsibilities:

  • Greets customers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner while maintaining a friendly, helpful attitude toward the customer at all times.
  • Assists customers in locating and selecting merchandise.
  • Records sales using the cash register while properly packaging merchandise.
  • May require the ability to operate a cash register.
  • Sorts, prices, and tickets donated items.
  • Maintains the sales floor, merchandise displays, and other inventory in a clean, neat and safe manner
  • Handles customer concerns in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Maintains volume and pricing of merchandise to assure customer expectations are met.

What I must bring:

  • Education generally equivalent to a high school diploma is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Experience of at least a basic level of competency with computers to complete e-learning opportunities and use our intranet, G-Wiz.
  • May require the ability to operate a cash register.
  • Must have good judgment to recognize clothing categories.
  • Must remain productive without direct leadership.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
