Job Overview:

The Omni DMM is responsible for overseeing the execution of merchandise strategy, selection and procurement for a particular segment of business to create a distinguished Bloomingdale's across both channels (stores and online). The Omni DMM will develop a merchandise strategy that fits into the overall Omni GMM vision inclusive of assortment curation, seeking out new and differentiating products and vendors for Bloomingdale's across both channels. The Omni DMM is responsible for developing a strategy to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize business performance / profitability while accelerating web generated business. Along with the Omni GMM, they are accountable for sales, gross margin, turn over, customer satisfaction and digital experience. The Omni DMM will need to optimize sales and profitability with a keen understanding of region and channel needs while customizing the assortment to the location level. The Omni DMM must lead an engaged workforce by simplifying work, driving standardization and ensuring empowerment of employees. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Direct buyers to develop assortments that support the needs of the customer and the financial objectives of the merchandise division.
• Work with the buyers to strengthen market relationships and knowledge of market trend, strengths and weaknesses.
• Support the company direction and develop an overall strategy and merchandise direction in support of the total company.
• Collaborate and partner with the planning organization to develop and execute seasonal and regional category assortment strategies.
• Provide the Digital Director the assortment strategy information to facilitate the online execution of merchandise strategy.
• Provide information to enable marketing to develop campaigns that present our fashion voice through partnership and collaboration.
• Foster an environment that promotes development of buyers, digital merchants and their businesses. Creates an engaged workforce and personally sets the example for development of senior assistant buyers and assistant buyers.
• Review assortment across vendors (style outs) to ensure assortment is supporting the strategy and vision for the division.
• Maximize sales through appropriate plans by resource, by location by channel.
• Strengthen relationships with vendors to maximize both profitability and other investments in our business.
• Negotiate seasonal agreements / terms with the vendors.
• Present the omnichannel marketing proposals to the vendors and negotiates funding
• Collaborate with the planning organization to develop by-store assortment plans that support overall strategy of in-stock positioning for key merchandise categories, classifications, items and vendors.
• Collaborate with marketing to ensure that pricing and promotional strategies support the financial objectives of the merchandise division.
• Stay current on trends and strategies of the competition in order to inform and impact Bloomingdale's strategies and opportunities.
• Facilitate and promote timely communication and cooperation between stores, merchandising functions, and resources.
• Present the monthly ROF to the Chairman.
• Ensure an offline and online merchandise presentation and collaborate with Store Design/ Visual for stores and Creative / Site Merchandising for online.
• Prepare and deliver merchandise strategy documents and presentation.
• Champion team’s commitment to using company established systems, processes and procedures.
• Travel as required by business demands.
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• 4 year College Degree required.
• Buying and merchant experience.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Reasoning Ability:

• Analytical and strategic abilities.

Other Skills:

• Strong partnership skills; able to broker mutually beneficial outcomes with stakeholders internally and externally.
• Keen sense of trend and industry knowledge.
• Understands how to influence others for desired outcome.
• Flexibility in responding to changing priorities.

Work Hours:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
